Alex is a high school junior and self-proclaimed poet -- writing captivates her and has always been the way she expresses her identity. Her poetry shines a light on substance abuse, prejudice, mental health, homophobia, and body image. Growing up in a Latino immigrant family, she knows she has to make the most of her opportunities and advocate for others constantly. She is determined to motivate others to use their voice and express their truth. She looks forward to immersing herself into BAGLY's supportive community, along with continuing to develop her leadership skills.
