Why is BAGLY moving? The move will enable BAGLY to better execute our mission of addressing the needs of LGBTQ+ youth. The new location is bigger, and will enable us to use the space flexibly, and expand our programs. The new location is also more accessible for people of varying levels of physical ability with better T and bus access. The move will also reunite BAGLY’s daytime programming with its Wednesday Night Events that have been separated for over 20 years.
Where will you move? We’ll be located at 28 Court Square, right near Government Center. It’s reachable from all points in the city and many neighboring towns, with nearby stops on the Blue, Green, Red, and Orange Lines, the commuter rail, and dozens of buses.
When is the move? The move takes place on August 3, and BAGLY will be open for business on August 15. The clinic will be open for regular services on August 15.
Did BAGLY buy the space? This is a rental space, with an 8-year lease.
Will there be any service disruption? For two weeks preceding the move, BAGLY’s community center is closed. Those needing clinic services can find alternatives listed here. Regular Wednesday night drop-ins at the Community Church of Boston (6-9pm) will take place during that time.
What’s the new space like? The new space is a storefront, with a ground-floor entry. It has 5,000 square feet spread over two levels include a drop-in space, an on-site health clinic, a cyber center, a fully equipped kitchen, and a performance space.
Will all the programs be the same? BAGLY will provide all the services it has provided before, and is developing new programs.
Will there be an opening celebration? Yes! On October 11, 2018-National Coming Out Day-BAGLY will hold a grand opening. Watch this space!
