Our HEARRT peer leader job descriptions are below. We are also hiring for another position:

HEARRT Transgender Health Specialist

BAGLY’s Health Education and Risk Reduction Team is a dedicated group of peer youth leaders who work together to provide programming surrounding health topics that directly affect their communities. The goal of the Transgender Health Specialist is to work closely with other HEARRT members in order to facilitate the inclusion of health topics specific to the transgender community in HEARRT workshops and programming.

Part time - 4 hours weekly (Wednesday nights) including mandatory trainings as scheduled and a once monthly Family Brunch programming.

Weekly responsibilities:

●  Attend team meetings to plan HEARRT programming

●  Collaboration with community partners

●  Distribution of safer sex materials

●  Stock and maintain materials for outreach tabling

●  Act as point of contact for youth who are seeking information on health topics related to the transgender community

Monthly responsibilities:

●  Facilitate HEARRT workshops and programming during the first Wednesday of each month

●  Attend other required events, trainings and meetings as needed

Ideal Qualifications:

●  1-2 years of work or other experience in healthcare related field, preferred

●  Bilingual, preferred

●  Strong interpersonal skills

●  Public speaking interest or experience

●  Commitment to BAGLY’s mission and values

●  Demonstrated leadership experience or skills

●  Interest or experience in sexual health

●  Ability to hold non-judgmental, sex positive conversations

●  Experience in the social justice movement and in working with communities of color

The goal of the Men’s Health Specialist is to work closely with other HEARRT members in order to facilitate the inclusion of health topics specific to the YMSM community in HEARRT workshops and programming.

Part time - 4 hours weekly (occasional Wednesdays; 1 weekly meeting in the drop-in space) including mandatory trainings as scheduled and a once monthly Family Brunch programming.

●  Attend team meetings to plan HEARRT programming

●  Distribution of safer sex materials
