MISSION
For nearly 50 years, BAGLY (The Boston Alliance of LGBTQ+ Youth) has been a youth-led, adult-supported social support organization, committed to social justice and creating, sustaining, and advocating for programs, policies, and services for the LGBTQ+ youth community in Massachusetts.
BAGLY’S
HISTORY
In July of 1980, long before the days of community, political, or financial support, BAGLY was founded by folks who believed that an organization led by and for queer and trans youth would be central to meeting the core needs of our community.
After having served 200,000+ youth since 1980, BAGLY is recognized nationally for its pioneering role in creating, sustaining, and advocating for social support, leadership development, and health promotion programs for LGBTQ+ youth. BAGLY’s strategies have been replicated by organizations across the country, and our earliest programs (Including our Youth Speakers Bureau, youth-led HIV/AIDS education, and the nation’s first prom for LGBTQ+ youth) have provided a foundation upon which many youth-led programs and organizations are now built.
Throughout its history, BAGLY has advocated and provided leadership for establishing community-driven statewide and national systems. As a founding organization of the National Youth Advocacy Coalition and the Massachusetts Commission on LGTBQ+ Youth, and by establishing the AGLY Network, our vision and innovation has led the way in building a stable local and national infrastructure vital to today’s LGBTQ+ youth work.
Today, BAGLY provides the programs and resources that allow queer and trans youth to take care, take agency and take action.
THE AGLY
NETWORK
BAGLY’s work extends well beyond the borders of the City of Boston. With a coalition of 15 LGBTQ+ youth serving organizations and programs across the state, the AGLY Network provides technical assistance and training, capacity building, best practices development, and program evaluation to LGBTQ+ youth groups across the state.
This vital work ensures that each year, nearly 5,000 LGBTQ+ youth and young adults from urban, suburban, and rural communities in Massachusetts access comprehensive, culturally competent social support, leadership development, and health promotion programs and referral services.

Option 1: From Park Street Station
Exit the station and walk along Tremont Street, heading away from Boston Common.
Turn right onto School Street.
Continue on School Street for a few hundred feet until you see City Hall Avenue on your left, just past Old City Hall.
Follow City Hall Avenue to the end, reaching Court Square.
Turn left and walk to BAGLY.
(Approx. 6-minute walk)
Option 2: From Downtown Crossing
Exit the station and walk along Washington Street, passing Primark and Old Navy.
Turn left onto Bromfield Street.
Continue until you reach Province Street.
Follow Province Street to the end, where it meets School Street.
Cross School Street and head toward City Hall Avenue (to the right of Old City Hall).
Follow City Hall Avenue to the end, reaching Court Square.
Turn left and walk to BAGLY.

Exit the station and turn left onto Court Street.
Continue walking until you reach Court Square on your right.
Follow Court Square to reach BAGLY.

Exit the station and walk along Tremont Street, heading away from Boston Common.
Turn right onto School Street.
Continue on School Street for a few hundred feet until you see City Hall Avenue on your left, right after Old City Hall.
Follow City Hall Avenue to the end, reaching Court Square.
Turn left and walk to BAGLY.

Take the Orange Line to Park Street Station.
Exit the station and walk along Tremont Street, heading away from Boston Common.
Turn right onto School Street.
Continue on School Street for a few hundred feet until you see City Hall Avenue on your left, right after Old City Hall.
Follow City Hall Avenue to the end, reaching Court Square.
Turn left and walk to BAGLY.

Exit the station and walk along Washington Street, passing Primark and Old Navy.

Driving to BAGLY?

Take I-93 South.
Take exit 24A-24B toward Government Center (about 0.3 miles).
Turn right onto State Street, which will turn into Court Street.
Continue on Court Street for about 0.5 miles.
Turn left onto Court Square.
Continue straight on Court Square to reach BAGLY.

Take I-90 East.
Follow I-90 East to North Street in Boston and take exit 23 from I-93 North.
Continue on North Street until you reach Congress Street.
Turn left onto Congress Street and follow it for about 0.4 miles until you reach Court Street on your right.
Turn left onto Court Street, then take a left onto Court Square.
Continue straight on Court Square to reach BAGLY.

Take I-93 North to North Street in Boston and exit at exit 23.
Continue on North Street until you reach Congress Street.
Turn left onto Congress Street and follow it for about 0.4 miles until you reach Court Street on your right.
Turn left onto Court Street, then take a left onto Court Square.
Continue straight on Court Square to reach BAGLY.
Important: Street parking only… be sure to bring lots of quarters!
