When a young person reaches for a lifeline, every moment matters

…especially when that lifeline means food on the table, a safe place to sleep, or clothes warm enough for winter. 

BAGLY’s Stabilization and Success program is designed to meet LGBTQ+ youth in the moment through our Direct Aid Initiative - from stocking the pantry, paying utility bills, and more.

Recently, BAGLY’s Direct Aid had to take a pause- but the need for support never went away. As of December 1st, 14 LGBTQ+ youth have reached out seeking support, with urgent requests totaling nearly $30,000. 

Thankfully, two incredible families continue to answer the call for LGBTQ+ youth. Since 2022, Matt Malloy & Mike Dawson, and Lynne & Don Bulens, have led a matching campaign to support BAGLY’s Direct Aid initiative. In keeping with their long-standing support, Matt and Don have graciously made a pledge to invest in BAGLY, and will match donations to provide immediate relief to those in need. 

With your donations combined, your gifts will help keep LGBTQ+ youth housed, warm, and fed through the winter months. Youth like Azheni, a 18 year old trans man fleeing from domestic abuse in Texas:

“Upon coming to Boston I was unbelievably scared, as I'm also homeless. BAGLY was not only a safe environment to be at, but also helped me get here in general. I was introduced to BAGLY’s Direct Aid via a sibling also struggling who BAGLY has helped. They paid for my ticket, clothes, got a roof over my head.

To put it simply, BAGLY Direct Aid is the only reason I could escape my abusers at all.”
