Mental and Behavioral Health

BAGLY now offers a variety of behavioral and mental health therapies for LGBTQ+ youth ages 25 and under, at no cost to the patient.

Group Therapy: The first 6 Week cycle of group therapy will begin Monday, October 7.

BAGLY holds group therapy where youth meet once a week for 6 weeks to discuss a wide array of topics. The next group therapy cycle begins Monday, October 7, 2019, and takes place from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. If you are interested in participating in a group therapy cycle, you must complete the registration form below and schedule an intake appointment with the therapist running group before attending the group sessions. October 7 Topic: The Intersection Between Gender Dysphoria and Body Dysmorphia

This group is for youth who identify as transgender or gender nonconforming, and who experience gender dysphoria, body image struggles, or both. Such struggles include disordered eating behaviors, over-exercise, and other intentional behaviors intended to control one’s shape, weight, or both. You do not need to be formally diagnosed to participate in this group.

Narrative Art Therapy: 4th Tuesday of every month, starting September 24, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

Narrative Art Therapy uses creative expression to separate one’s own identities from problem-saturated stories to explore and enhance one’s resilience. This is a drop-in group that begins September 24, 2019.  

Tea Time: Every Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Tea Time is a confidential, drop-in therapy session for youth 25 and under. Tea Time occurs every Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. To participate, you must sign up on the day of the session. This session is first come, first served. 

Peer Mental Health Meeting: 2nd Tuesday of every month, starting September 10, 2019 from 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. 

The Peer Mental Health meeting is a peer-led, adult-supported group that addresses the unique challenges LGBTQ+ youth face when navigating the mental health system. The first meeting is an introductory/ welcome meeting, and subsequent meetings will focus on specific topics. Some topics include medication adherence, finding the right mental health professional for you, and getting the most out of your therapy session.
