Volunteer Opportunities

Throughout the year, BAGLY puts on events for LGBTQ+ youth and to raise money for BAGLY’s programs and services. These events rely on, in part, the time and energy of generous volunteers from the community. To effectively fund BAGLY’s programs and services, it is imperative to keep the costs of these events as low as possible. Volunteering at a BAGLY event is a great way for individuals to support BAGLY beyond financial generosity. The following are just some of the potential volunteer opportunities available at these events:

  • Greeting guests

  • Registration

  • Distribution of information and materials

  • Coat check attendants

  • Outreach

  • Auction item procurement

If you are interested in volunteering, fill out this form to stay up to date with BAGLY’s current volunteer opportunities. We will contact you when new volunteer opportunities become available.

*NEW* Volunteer Opportunity: Become a BAGLY Pride Ambassador!

Getting involved in local events is one of the best (and most fun!) ways to roll up your sleeves and show LGBTQ+ youth that you are there for them. Each Pride season, BAGLY sees a major increase in requests from other non-profit organizations and supportive companies to help spread Pride far and wide... that's where you come in!

This year, we are assembling a team of volunteers to become (the first ever!) BAGLY Pride Ambassadors! As an Ambassador, you will support BAGLY staff and youth leaders by attending events and resource fairs that raise awareness about the life-saving, life-changing programs and services available to LGBTQ+ youth through BAGLY.

All of our new Pride Ambassadors will receive the training and support that you'll need to make a difference in the lives of LGBTQ+ youth - what could be better? Want to join us? Fill out our interest form below!

Board of Directors

BAGLY’s Board of Directors is made up of both youth and adults, and it serves as the governing body of the organization. The Board is responsible for the overall mission and vision of BAGLY, including its fiscal, legal, fund development, and programmatic direction and strategic planning.

The Board is committed to ensuring that its members represent the diversity of greater Boston’s population, particularly the LGBTQ youth communities whom it serves. BAGLY’s priority populations include youth of color, transgender youth and youth from low-income backgrounds, and the Board is actively recruiting members who reflect this experience and commitment.

Do you have a passion for BAGLY’s mission and vision? Are you interested in a rewarding service opportunity? Do you want to help BAGLY in a significant way with your time? Then we would love to talk to you!

If you are interested in joining BAGLY’s Board (or one of its committees), please contact us for further information and an application.

Plan Your Own Fundraiser

Many people, organizations, businesses and social groups selflessly take it upon themselves to plan, organize and manage independent fundraisers to support BAGLY. Past examples of these fundraisers include the “Race for the Tiara” sponsored and planned by the Cambridge Boston Volleyball Association (CVBA) and the Boston Guerilla Queer Bar’s monthly bar takeover.

We encourage anyone interested in planning an independent fundraiser to do so!

Some ideas for independent fundraisers are:

  • Small house parties hosted by current donors

  • “In lieu of flowers/gifts” for weddings, funerals, memorial services, etc.

  • Car/Motorcycle/Bicycle Wash-A-Thons

  • Office Holiday Parties

Of course you don’t have to limit yourself to the ideas presented here. We at BAGLY are happy to sit down and discuss the details of your fundraiser and help you plan the details, invite our network and offer suggestions.

For more information or help planning your own BAGLY Fundraiser, please contact Kurtlan Massarsky.
